The Jetstream2 engineering team will be performing essential maintenance on all g3.medium instances between Tuesday, April 7 and Thursday, April 9. This maintenance is necessary to apply critical software, firmware, and security patches to the hypervisors, ensuring the continued stability and performance of our GPU infrastructure.

Quick Summary

  • Window Starts: Tuesday, April 7, @ 7:00 AM ET
  • Window Ends: Thursday, April 9, @ 7:00 AM ET (Estimated)
  • Affected Resources: All g3.medium instances.

Expected Impact

  • Instance Availability: At the start of the maintenance window, all active g3.medium instances will be automatically shelved.
  • New Launches: You will be unable to unshelve existing or launch new g3.medium instances until the maintenance is complete.
  • Other Flavors: Non-GPU instances and other GPU flavors will remain unaffected.

Required Action

To prevent potential data loss from unsaved processes, we strongly recommend that you:

  1. Save all work and stop any running processes before the window begins.
  2. Manually shelve your g3.medium instances prior to 7:00 AM ET on Tuesday, April 7.

Maintenance Details

Our engineers will be conducting comprehensive updates, including:

  • Critical security and firmware patching.
  • Cleanup of resource allocation records to improve scheduling and reliability.
